In 1965 Sheikh Abdul Mohsen Bin Abdul Aziz Alhokair founded Abdel Mohsen Alhokair Group for Tourism and Development with the launch of a small park in the Malaz district of Riyadh. Since then he has consistently taken the Group to new heights, expanding geographically as well as in terms of the scale and profile of projects tackled.  He was one of the earliest investors in the field of tourism, and as such played a pioneering role in the nation's tourism industry. In 1990 he increased his hotel and resort investments to become the owner of the largest chain of hotels and recreational cities in the Gulf and Middle East. Today, as the Group head, he is the undisputed leader of the recreation and tourism industry in the Kingdom.

Over the years, Sheikh Abdul Mohsen Bin Abdul Aziz Alhokair has acquired a range of tourism- and leisure-related certification, while cultivating extensive know-how in the fields of trading and industry. His expertise is often called on, with the Sheikh having presented a number of white papers at exhibitions and conferences specialized in tourism and leisure. In addition to his position as Group Head, the Sheikh is also a board member of many local and international companies and organizations in both the touristic and industrial fields. Recognition of his achievements has come from the highest levels with the Italian government recently awarding him a medal of merit and the international hotel chain Golden Tulip giving him the honored title of the Sheikh of Gulf Tourism.
